VERRUCAE
A verrucae is a manifestation of a virus, called the “Human Papilloma Virus” that we see on the foot. This Lesion is known as a “Wart” elsewhere on the body but is essentially the same thing. If left alone a verrucae will disappear on its own, but this may take a number of years. However if a verrucae is painful it is best to treat it. There are a number of ways of treating verrucae such as “freezing”, surgery, or most commonly using caustics or mild acids. Treatment of verrucae need not be a painful experience. In Achilles Foot Clinic we have a range of treatments that we can use to treat your verrucae. When treating a verrucae with multiple applications of a caustic/acid we only charge for a maximum of 5 treatments even if it takes more appointments to complete the treatment.
